DieHardBirdie calls on Gray Gamers in the new “DSCVR Esports” show

The Sweden-based 78-year old CS:GO champion shared his recruitment plans for his own esports team in the new DSCVR episode filmed in NASDAQ Studios 

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) senior world champion Abbe “DieHardBirdie” Borg was the featured guest on the latest episode of DSCVR show focused on esports and gray gamers. The episode was filmed in Nasdaq Studios prior to the quarantine. DSCVR is a 30-minute mixed-format television show produced by The Soho Loft Productions division of The Soho Loft Media Group, a subsidiary of LDJ Capital based in New York.

DieHardBirdie spoke with David Drake, Chairman of LDJ Capital and The Soho Loft Media Group and the host of DSCVR. DieHardBirdie shared how he started in esports after Lenovo recruited him to play CS:GO four years ago and how his love for the game grew.

“You have to find some guts to try to play the game. With patience, you’ll then find the pleasure and fun where you could play with your family and the next generations,” Abbe said. Just like most professional players, he spends about 10 hours of playing time in a week as his training.
The growth of the esports industry is forecasted to double in the coming years. “The esports industry is a healthy industry with revenue from thousands of tournaments around the world. Just as DieHardBirdie said, esports helps families to interact socially through games,” David Drake said.

DieHardBirdie shared his plans of creating his own gaming team called Golden Snipers where he looks to recruit military and police veterans 60 years of age and above. “In this competition, the team needs to train and plan tactics to win and move up a notch. Bring it on! I am waiting,” Abbe said.
